Energy for Industry named as double finalist in 2006 EECA EnergyWise Awards

(02/02/2006) Two of Energy for Industry's recent projects, at Auckland Hospital and Winstone Pulp International, have been nominated as finalists in the 2006 EECA EnergyWise Awards.

Development, implementation and ongoing operation of a state-of-the-art cogeneration plant at Auckland City Hospital has earned Energy for Industry a nomination as a finalist in two of the Awards' categories - the Innovation category and the Energy Supplier category. The new facility supplies baseload heat and electricity, as well as standby power, to the hospital.

A cutting edge new heat plant at Winstone Pulp International developed by Energy for Industry is also a finalist in the Awards' Innovation category. The 12MW wood waste fired heat plant uses latest technology in a very challenging environment to supply thermal energy for drying pulp.

The Energy Supplier category recognises initiatives that best achieve an efficient supply-demand balance.

The Innovation category recognises services, products or projects in end-use energy efficiency and/or renewable energy.

Energy for Industry is also a major sponsor of the Awards, being the category sponsor for the Industrial/Manufacturing Award.
